NES developed this course in response to the significant number of front–line or first on–scene police officers being attacked by meth offenders and/or being exposed to methamphetamine lab chemicals during routine calls and traffic stops.

• The first segment covers meth offenders providing information on the effects of meth on users, the signs and symptoms of use, and defensive measures officers should take when encountering these individuals.


• The second half of the course covers how officers can identify whether a meth lab might be present during routine response calls and traffic stops and the defensive measures they should take to protect themselves and the public.
