Who Should Attend This course is designed for HazMat Technicians responsible for planning and directing response actions. This additional training is useful for all students whose job duties involve any aspect of spill–response scene management. Objectives To prepare students who will be responsible for scene management at a chemical release. Course will give students the tools to implement the incident command system, emergency response plan, proper use of personal protective equipment, and decontamination procedures. Overview This course introduces students to the Incident Command System, scene operations, agency logistics, principles of leadership, California SEMS, incident priorities, and field decision making. To attend this course, competency in the 24–hr Emergency Response HazMat Technician is required. Students will receive a printed copy of the PowerPoint presentation, and a CD of the course manual.
