U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Employee (Advanced)

This course provides general awareness and familiarization of the hazardous materials transportation regulations, thorough review of hazardous materials table, classification of hazardous materials emergency response requirements, preparation of shipping papers (including Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests), marking, labeling, and placarding and UN specification packaging requirements. Additional function–specific training may be needed to fully comply with 49 CFR 172.704 requirements for those who load hazardous materials or who operate a vehicle transporting hazardous materials. Each student will receive a course handout, an Emergency Response Guidebook, a hazardous Materials Compliance Pocket Guide, a CD containing the course manual, and a certificate of completion.

This 8–hr program covers the recurrent (2 year) training requirements mandated by IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and prepared for ground handling agencies, freight forwarders, shipper of dangerous goods and agencies engaged in security screening. Each year IATA makes changes, including additions and cancellations to the existing previous editions that are highlighted in this program. Students will receive a printed copy of the PowerPoint and a CD of the course material.
