Who Should Attend
The course is strongly recommended for personnel who prepare manifests or sign manifests/shipping papers prepared by others. Prerequisites: Students must have completed their initial DOT Hazardous Material Employee training and should also complete a Generator Training course.

Objectives
This course provides an overview of the hazardous waste manifest system and instruction on proper completion of the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest. Course covers the new federal manifest form which became effective on September 6, 2006. The course fulfills the function–specific training needed to comply with 49 CFR 172.704 for employees who prepare and ship hazardous waste by commercial carriers. Compliance with DOT and RCRA/Title 22 requires preparers and/or signers of manifests to complete their U.S. DOT HazMat Employee (general awareness) and should complete a Hazardous Waste Generator (Title 22/RCRA training).

Overview
Course includes an overview of the hazardous waste manifest system and completion of the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest. Program meets the function–specific training requirements for shipping papers as listed in 49 CFR 172.704, as well as supplement HazWaste Training requirements (for those who complete and/or sign the manifest). Students will receive a printed copy of the PowerPoint presentation, federal and state waste codes, and instructions for completing a manifest form.
