Who Should Attend
This course is for employees who prepare and ship hazardous materials and hazardous waste, including those who prepare or sign Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests. This course is also for DOT HazMat employees who have successfully completed an initial DOT HazMat Employee training course and need the three–year refresher training or want to update their training and knowledge of new transportation requirement changes.

Objectives
This training program complies with the initial and refresher training requirements outlined in 49 CFR 172.704 for DOT HazMat employees who prepare and ship hazardous materials and hazardous waste, including those who prepare or sign Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests.

Overview
This course provides general awareness and familiarization of the hazardous materials transportation regulations, use of the hazardous materials table, emergency response requirements, preparation of shipping papers (including Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests), marking, labeling, and placarding. Additional function–specific training is needed to fully comply with 49 CFR 172.704 requirements for those who load hazardous materials or who operate a vehicle transporting hazardous materials. Participants will receive a course manual, Emergency Response Guidebook, Hazardous Materials Compliance Pocket Guide, and a certificate of completion.
