About David Durst

David Durst has been with NES since 1999 and brings over 35 years of experience in industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety to our team. He is responsible for project design, management, and oversight of hazardous material investigations and remediation projects, as well as delivering occupational health and safety services. He provides expert testimony and litigation support on cases involving mold/indoor air quality, occupational health and safety, and clandestine drug labs.

David has extensive experience in industrial hygiene program development and implementation, environmental compliance program audits, OSHA-mandated employee training, and indoor air quality assessments. He has performed hundreds of field investigations to provide solution-oriented remedial action plans for restoring contaminated commercial, industrial, and residential properties. In addition, David has managed numerous wildfire and industrial site fire HAZWOPER investigations and remedial operations projects for the State Water Agency and CalEPA.

In addition to his work as our Principal Industrial Hygienist, David has authored various publications on clandestine drug lab operations. He teaches several industrial hygiene courses at the University of California, Davis Extension Program and has provided clandestine laboratory safety training and technical support for law enforcement throughout the nation for over 18 years.
