This 40-hour HAZWOPER program was developed to address safety concerns for personnel working cannabis cultivation, extraction, and processing operations. The course focuses on the many health & safety concerns associated with cannabis operations sites, including chemical and physical hazards, hazard evaluation, protective clothing, respiratory protection, and other related topics. Training for this program consists of both classroom and hands-on instruction and may also incorporate a THC extraction demonstration.

Objective: Prepare personnel to perform cannabis site operations safely and in compliance with the OSHA HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120)

Target Personnel: Law enforcement, environmental health inspectors/regulators, state parks employees, Forest Service agents, and other personnel who are involved in entering, assessing, and/or dismantling cannabis cultivation, extraction, and processing sites

Prerequisites: Medically cleared to wear respiratory protection; clean-shaven if being fit tested
