Overview:
The topics covered in the 40-Hour HAZWOPER course include chemical and physical hazard recognition, hazard controls, selection of personal protective equipment, air monitoring, respiratory protection, site control, decontamination, field-specific operations (drum handling, trenching and excavation, etc.), and an introduction to emergency response. Training includes PowerPoint instruction and live, instructor-led video of the use of personal protective equipment, monitoring, sampling, and decon practices.

Each student will receive a course materials download link prior to the webinar and a certificate of completion following the training. For those who will be pre-paying for the course (by paying through this website or arranging advance payment with the NES registrar) and would like hard copies of course materials mailed to you, please contact us at registrar@nesglobal.net or 800-637-2384. Please request materials far enough in advance to allow sufficient time for preparation and delivery.

Individuals who are medically evaluated, present a physician’s written consent, and bring their personal respirator are entitled to receive a qualitative fit test free of charge (at our Folsom training facility only) or a quantitative fit test for an additional fee of $35 (also available at our Folsom training facility only). Given the circumstances, please contact NES to arrange an appointment for fit testing.

Objectives:
This course prepares students to perform hazardous waste remediation and cleanup operations safely and in compliance with the OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations Standard. This course is for employees involved in hazardous waste remediation activities (site workers) who are, or may be, exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards.
