29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192
Stay in compliance with both 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192 with this annual refresher course developed for employees working in California.* This course satisfies 8 CCR 5192 (e) and (p) refresher requirements for emergency response personnel (i.e., those needing to refresh their First Responder Operations, Incident Commander or Hazardous Materials Technician training). This program is updated annually in order to cover any regulatory changes, use of the Emergency Response Guidebook, personal protective equipment trends, chemical hazard classification, field safety, emergency response operations, respiratory protection, and revised hazard assessment techniques.
Each student will receive a course materials download link prior to the webinar and a certificate of completion following the training. For those who will be pre-paying for the course (by paying through this website or arranging advance payment with the NES registrar) and would like hard copies of course materials mailed to you, please contact us at email@example.com or 800-637-2384. Please request materials far enough in advance to allow sufficient time for preparation and delivery.
*8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training is intended to be completed annually following initial HAZWOPER or other emergency response training (40-Hour HAZWOPER, 24-Hour HAZWOPER, First Responder Operations, Incident Commander, Hazardous Materials Technician) or prior 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher training. NOTE: workers not completing a refresher after one year following initial or refresher HAZWOPER training are not permitted to work at a qualified site, and Cal/OSHA requires completion of a refresher within 24 months to avoid having to re-take 40-/24-Hour HAZWOPER training; federal OSHA has set no explicit such time frame.
Individuals who are medically evaluated, present a physician’s written consent, and bring their personal respirator are entitled to receive a qualitative fit test free of charge (at our Folsom training facility only) or a quantitative fit test for an additional fee of $35 (also available at our Folsom training facility only). Given the circumstances, please contact NES to arrange an appointment for fit testing.
This course meets the annual refresher training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 CCR 5192 for individuals working at hazardous waste cleanup sites.
