Applicable Regulations (Cannabis Businesses Only):

Overview:
California cannabis businesses are now required by licensing agencies to have at least one supervisor and one employee complete Cal/OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training. This program is required by Cal/OSHA to cover certain topics, but we tailor the program so that it fits the context of cannabis industry operations; however, anyone seeking Cal/OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training can attend this program and become certified. Participants attending this 30-hour class will receive training from an OSHA Training Institute Education Center-authorized outreach program trainer on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. Course participants will be provided with information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and filing a complaint.

Each student will receive a course materials download link prior to the webinar and a course completion card following the training. For those who will be pre-paying for the course (by paying through this website or arranging advance payment with the NES registrar) and would like hard copies of course materials mailed to you, please contact us at registrar@nesglobal.net or 800-637-2384. Please request materials far enough in advance to allow sufficient time for preparation and delivery.

Objectives:
While cannabis operations may present a standard subset of hazards, this course is designed to help prevent occupational incidents by increasing awareness of and familiarity with safety and health hazards encountered generally in any industry workplace.

Who Should Attend:
This 30-hour training program is designed to complement the occupational activities of cannabis industry employees, but it is also applicable to all general industry supervisors or workers with any safety responsibility.

NOTE: for cannabis industry employees, this program satisfies the requirement to have at least one supervisor and one employee complete Cal/OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training per Bureau of Cannabis Control (16 CCR, Div. 42), California Department of Food and Agriculture (3 CCR, Div. 8, Ch. 1), and California Department of Public Health (17 CCR Div. 1, Ch. 13); for those outside of the regulated cannabis industry, this program is voluntary in the state of California and does not meet the training requirements for any OSHA standards, though several U.S. states and some contractors, municipalities, and other entities do require its successful completion.
