Site Safety Specialist Course

The Site Safety Specialist Training course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage safety and health concerns in illicit hazardous environments/HAZWOPER settings. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Site Safety Specialist, as well as a deep understanding of key topics such as Illicit Hazardous Environment Methods and Site Specific Hazards, Health & Safety/Emergency Response Plans, Respiratory Protection & Medical Surveillance Programs, Hazard Communication Program, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Heat & Cold Illnesses, HAZWOPER Equipment Selection & Maintenance, Hazard Control Management, Site Control & Decontamination, and Scene Management & Waste Handling. This is an exercise-intensive program designed to prepare students to perform equipment maintenance, develop health & safety programs, and oversee first responder actions at clan labs. The course outlines the documentation, reporting, and regulatory requirements needed on-site to meet the requirements in the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iv) (HAZWOPER) standard.
