49 CFR 172.704
Overview:
This course provides general awareness of and familiarization with hazardous materials transportation regulations, use of the hazardous materials table, emergency response requirements, preparation of shipping papers, marking, labeling, and placarding. Additional function-specific training may be needed to fully comply with 49 CFR 172.704 requirements for those who load hazardous materials or who operate a vehicle transporting hazardous materials. Participants will receive a course manual, Emergency Response Guidebook, and certificate of completion.
Objectives:
This training program complies with the initial and refresher training requirements outlined in 49 CFR 172.704 for DOT hazmat employees who affect the safe transportation of hazardous materials.
