Authorized Central Storage (ACS)

3-Day Course

All personnel who respond to either an illicit drug manufacturing activity or an illegal drug activity usually encounters various hazardous chemicals regulated by either the U.S. Dept. of Transportation or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or both, when these items are removed for disposal.  The cost of this contracted service by a licensed hazardous waste hauler can and has been historically a financial burden to the responding agencies.  One option utilized for many agencies and states to off-set the expensive approach has been to implement an “Authorized Central Storage” (ACS) program to consolidate these wastes at a central “temporary storage” location and subsequentially generating one hazardous waste pick-up service, rather than generating separate service calls for each illegal incident.
